Guru Randhawa to Headline EDC Main Stage With Steve Aoki on Nov 7
The Punjabi pop star becomes the first India-born artist at Electric Daisy Carnival, where he will premiere Aoki's remix of 'Sirra'.

Guru Randhawa is taking Punjabi pop to one of the biggest dance music stages in the world. On November 7, the singer and actor will join American DJ Steve Aoki on the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) main stage, according to a press release.
The set will premiere Aoki's official remix of Randhawa's track 'Sirra'. Randhawa will be the first India-born music artist to perform at EDC, and it will be his first appearance at an international festival.
Why it matters: EDC is among the world's largest electronic music events, and a Punjabi pop song getting a main-stage moment signals how far Indian sounds are travelling beyond Bollywood and desi playlists.
Randhawa said in a statement that representing India and its sound on the EDC main stage is a massive honour, and that the remix fuses two very distinct worlds. Aoki said electronic music is about bridging cultures, and he recalled fond touring memories from India.
'Sirra' comes from Randhawa's album 'Without Prejudice'. The release says it has 356 million cumulative streams and 550 million collective YouTube views. The remix, facilitated by Warner Music India, is available on major streaming platforms.
This isn't Randhawa's first global team-up. He has worked with Pitbull ('Slowly Slowly'), Tito El Bambino, French Montana, Jay Sean, K-pop group LE SSERAFIM, The Chainsmokers and Rick Ross.
Fans at home get their turn next. Randhawa plays 'Sirra Era Live in Concert' at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi, on December 12. It marks his return to live touring after a three-year break and celebrates 13 years in music.
