Deepti Sharma hits unbeaten 53 as Uttar Pradesh crush Uttarakhand by 10 wickets
A day after her ICC Player of the Month nomination, India's star all-rounder showed why, anchoring a flawless chase in the Senior Women's T20 Trophy.

Deepti Sharma did not let the spotlight slow her down. Captaining Uttar Pradesh on Friday, she smashed an unbeaten 53 off 40 balls and took a wicket as her side beat Uttarakhand by 10 wickets in the Senior Women's T20 Trophy Elite 2026-27.
The win came one day after the ICC nominated her for Women's Player of the Month for October 2026. The nod recognises her work in India's ODI series against Zimbabwe, where she made an unbeaten century in tough conditions and took seven wickets across the white-ball games.
On the field, the chase was simple. Uttarakhand managed 105 in their 20 overs, with Deepti chipping in with the ball. Then she opened the batting with Varnika Singh, who finished on 46 off 35. The pair never separated, and Uttar Pradesh reached 106 in just 12.3 overs.
The knock extends a strong domestic run. In four matches Deepti has scored 226 runs and taken three wickets. Earlier scores include 89 against Jharkhand and 84 against Delhi.
Why it matters: top international players returning to state cricket lift the standard and give younger teammates a close look at match-winning habits. Deepti is also riding high after India's 2025 ICC Women's ODI World Cup triumph, where she was named Player of the Tournament.
For Uttar Pradesh, a captain who leads from the front with bat and ball is a big advantage as the campaign continues. For fans, it is a reminder that her form is not tied to any one stage.
